The 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit will be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1. This will be the fifth time that China has hosted the SCO Summit and the largest summit since the establishment of the SCO. At a press conference for domestic and foreign media on August 22, Liu Bin, assistant to the Foreign Minister, introduced that President Xi Jinping will gather with more than 20 foreign leaders and 10 heads of international organizations at the seaside of the Haihe River to summarize the successful experience of the SCO, outline the development blueprint of the SCO, build a consensus of cooperation in the "SCO family", and promote the organization to move forward towards the goal of building a more closely-knit community of shared future.
Foreign leaders invited to the summit include Belarusian President Lukashenko, Indian Prime Minister Modi, Iranian President Rouhani, Kazakh President Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr, Pakistani Prime Minister Sheba, Russian President Putin, Tajik President Rahmon, Uzbek President米尔济约耶夫, Mongolian President呼日勒苏赫, Azerbaijani President Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Maldivian President Yameen, Nepalese Prime Minister Oli, Turkish President Erdoğan, Egyptian Prime Minister Madbli, Turkmen President Berdymakhodov, Indonesian President Prabowo, Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee Secretary General and President Thongloun, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, Vietnamese Prime Minister范明政, etc.
