Qld scraps most COVID check-ins, 19 more deaths on Monday

Brisbane lord mayor Adrian Schrinner praised the decision to remove the check-in requirement in many venues, saying it was a win for “common sense”.

“The state hasn’t been using their app for contact tracing, so forcing residents to use it didn’t make much sense,” Mr Schrinner said.

“This will help to reduce the angst and be good for local business.”

Queensland has recorded 19 more deaths and over 4000 more cases, but Queenslanders will no longer be required to check-in using the official app as the current virus peak passes.
